Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was released in 1998. Directed by Karan Johar, despite the flaws in the story, the romantic comedy is still loved for its evergreen songs, entertaining dialogues and of course, the flashy costumes. Remember how Shah Rukh’s character Rahul Khanna wore tight t-shirts and jeans in the first half of the film? Director Karan Johar shared some anecdotes you can’t forget, including one when Shah Rukh Khan felt uncomfortable wearing ‘flashy tight clothes’ in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

Sometime ago (September 21), after midnight, Karan Johar took to Instagram and shared an old video of Shah Rukh Khan in which he is talking about his most embarrassing moment on the sets of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

“The most embarrassing moment is the costumes that I have to wear while playing a young boy, mujhe meri jeans zyaad tan hai, t-shirt zyaad tan hai (I think my jeans and t-shirt are tight) and I have to play a college boy in my youth. I have to speak, walk, talk and do certain things that I am embarrassed about…” Shah Rukh says in the clip.

King Khan also talked about a scene that was not kept in the final cut of the 1998 film. Shah Rukh mentions a scene from the shooting where Rahul drops his basketball from behind and it goes into the basket.

KJo also wrote a long note along with the clip, saying that Shah Rukh’s outfits in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai are “fashion relevant” in today’s times. The director then recalled that Shah Rukh wore tight outfits in KKHH.

“Bhai (SRK) was so uncomfortable in those shiny tight clothes and yet he wore them with major fashion core energy!” read an excerpt from his post. The filmmaker also recalled the basketball scene, saying, “I remember while shooting the basketball sequence I kept calling it “goal” until Bhai took me aside and whispered “it’s a basket” and I looked around until I understood!! #memories #90s,” his post further read.
