Superstar Rajinikanth received a rousing applause from fans who turned up at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai to launch the ‘preview’ of his upcoming film Vettaiyaan. The Amitabh Bachchan starrer will release in theatres on October 10 in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada.

Dressed in a black shirt, Rajinikanth arrived at the venue amid tight security with Vettaiyan’s song “Hunter Vanthaar” playing in the background. The actor greeted his fans with a smile on his face as he received love from them. He also hugged music composer Anirudh Ravichander at the event.

Directed by TJ Gnanavel, Vettaiyaan is said to be laced with a hard-hitting social message and is one of the most anticipated films of 2024. The film will see Thalaivar playing an encounter specialist IPS officer, with Amitabh Bachchan playing his senior.

Vettaiyaan is an action drama written and directed by Kootathil Oruthan and Jai Bhim fame TJ Gnanavel. The film is screenplayed by B. Kiruthika. The film stars Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, Rohini, Rao Ramesh and Ramesh Thilak in lead roles.

Produced by Lyca Productions, the film has music by Anirudh Ravichander. Cinematographer SR Karthik and editor Philomin Raj are part of the technical crew of Vettaiyan.

Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth have previously shared the screen in films like Hum, Andha Kanoon and Girftaar.
