Alia Bhatt is one of the most celebrated actresses of Indian cinema and over the last 13 years, she has established herself as an actress with better script selection than everyone else. Alia is currently shooting for the YRF spy universe film Alpha, while she will start shooting for Love and War from December. She has locked several dates for the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial, which is set to release widely in theatres in March 2026. And now, we have exclusively learned that Alia Bhatt is keen to do a love story after action and drama-packed films like Zirgra. love and war and Alpha.
According to sources close to the development, Alia has been hearing about several films in the romantic space and has her mind set on a particular script. “Alia has identified a script for her next film after Love and War, and she wants to produce and star in the film. It is an out-and-out love story, and Alia’s heart is set on the said script at the moment,” revealed a source close to the development, further adding that the film will go on floors in the last quarter of 2025, once she completes shooting for Love and War.
The source further added that the film might be directed by someone who has made a Rs 200 crore film in 2022. The source added, “There have been several rounds of meetings and the talks are going in the right direction. The film is still a year away from going on the floors and hence, there is a chance for Alia to change her mind if something better comes up. But given the way things stand at the moment, this love story is set as Alia’s next film for 2026.”
The team is looking for a top male lead for the film, and talks on the casting front will begin by January 2024. The source concluded, “The entire casting will begin once the paperwork is complete and the stakeholders are committed to taking the film on the floors by the end of 2025.” Talking about Alia Bhatt, her next film is Zirgra on October 11, 2024, followed by Alpha At the end of 2025.
