The much-awaited teaser of the much-awaited Squid Game: Season 2 was released today, September 20. The teaser picks up right after the Season 1 finale where Seong Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae), having given up on his plans to immigrate to the US, is now engaged in a dangerous quest driven by a newly discovered purpose.

In the brief teaser, Lee Jung-jae’s character (Player 456) reappears in his distinctive uniform among a crowd of new contestants. Once again, he is up for a huge cash prize (456 billion won), and a glimpse of the upcoming games is also given. It ends with a dynamic action sequence, with Gi-hun ready for a new chapter in his signature green tracksuit.

The teaser was shared by Netflix and captioned, “The game never stops. Are you ready to play? Squid Game Season 2 is coming December 26.”

The second season of the popular Korean series sees the return of Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun and Gong Yoo as survivors of the deadly elimination game. The tagline, ‘The Game Will Not Stop’, hints at new developments and increased stakes.

Apart from them, the cast of Squid Game: Season 2 includes Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yuri, and Won Ji-soo.

Squid Game: Season 2 is set to premiere on December 26 on Netflix.
