Moksha Sengupta is a Bengali actress known for her work in South Indian cinema. Hailing from Barrackpore in North 24 Parganas, she began her career as a teacher before moving to acting. She began her career in Bengali films before moving to South India, where she now works in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu cinema.

In an interview with India Today, Moksha shared her reaction to the incident.

Moksha said, “When I first heard about this crime, I was in Hyderabad for a film release and was unaware of the situation. As soon as I came to know about this heinous act in Kolkata, I returned to my city to protest. I felt compelled to do so, as I am a sensitive person. As an artist, I chose to take to the streets to protest. I dedicated my time to participating in various protests, voicing the concerns of common people using my art, and standing as a representative of the city’s residents.”

The Supreme Court will hear on Tuesday the case of rape and murder of a trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
