Former President Donald Trump has gifted his supporters a new merchandise line featuring T-shirt designs similar to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour tees. The launch comes days after the pop star endorsed his rival Kamala Harris on social media.
Trump’s accessories were modeled on the ‘Eras Tour’ shirt, which was very similar to the ‘Eras’ tour shirt designed by Swift. The TTPD producer’s shirt features a black and white photo of the singer with all of her album covers in the background and each album cover is colored differently. The shirt reads “Taylor Swift The Eras Tour” below these photos.
In Trump’s case, the construction is preserved in almost the same way, here with Swift’s photos replaced with Trump’s face. The T-shirt has “Make America Great Again” printed on it alongside “Donald J Trump”, in the same font used in the Eras design to decorate the poster.
The similarity of Trump’s accessories to Swift’s concert T-shirts caused a stir on social media. Many of Swift’s fans, known as Swifties, demanded a legal battle on their social media platforms. Others believed that the Karma singer should take Trump to court for violating her copyright. Many others criticized Trump over the issue and accused him of talking nonsense and unnecessarily hating activist singer Swift.
The emergence of Trump-branded T-shirts came after Swift expressed support for Kamala Harris due to the vice president’s leadership experience and values. In this support, Swift did not spare Trump and condemned him for posting AI images of her as a Trump supporter.
While Trump referred to Swift as a “very generous person” and claimed he was never a fan of hers, his business move shows he still sees her appeal as an asset.
The former US president threatened the Bad Blood singer, saying she will “pay a price in the market” for going against him and supporting Harris. Still, Taylor Swift fans are telling her to ignore all this and sue Donald Trump.
