Cardi B has become a mother for the third time. The 31-year-old WAP rapper welcomed her third child on Saturday, September 7, announcing the happy news on Instagram on Friday, September 12. The proud mom can be seen smiling in a hospital bed while holding her newborn and wearing a colorful robe.
Cardi’s announcement post was a carousel upload, and the following photos and videos in the collection of moments included her estranged husband, Offset, and their two children, Kulture, 6, and WayV. In one photo, Offset can be seen giving the baby a skin-to-skin treatment, while another photo shows Kulture holding the tiny human in her arms, with her mother looking down lovingly at her. The singer did not explicitly reveal the baby’s sex; however, her caption for the post — “The most beautiful little thing. 9/7/24” — hints that the newest member of the family could be a girl.
Cardi B revealed on Instagram that she was expecting her third child in early August, the same day she announced she was filing for divorce from Offset.
“With every ending there is a new beginning! I am so grateful to share this season with you. You have given me more love, more life, and most of all, renewed my strength,” she wrote in the caption alongside a few photos of herself in a red dress that shows off her belly.
Regarding the rapper’s decision to file for divorce from her husband of six years, a rep confirmed to People that Cardi’s decision was not based on cheating rumors, but rather had been a long time coming.
The two got married in a secret ceremony in 2017; however, their marriage has not been without turmoil. It wasn’t until August 2024 that Cardi first filed for divorce. She previously filed papers for separation from the Migos rapper in 2020, but the couple was able to resolve their issues and stay together.
Last month, Cardi B revealed in an X Space chat that her third pregnancy had been challenging. The Bodak Yellow rapper told her fans that she had recently been in a “freak accident” that left her “paralyzed” for a period of time and almost led to a miscarriage.
