Mallika Sherawat is all set to appear on the big screen after a long gap with Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. The trailer was released today (September 12) and excerpts from it have gone viral like fire on the internet. During the trailer launch event, the film’s director Raaj Shaandilyaa revealed the real reason behind casting Mallika in this comedy.
The conversation began with producer Bhushan Kumar saying, “We thought we would bring back Mallika Sherawat as she hasn’t done such a specific role for a long time. Raaj, you tell us your fantasy…” This is when the audience began laughing and Shaandilyaa had to clarify his intention of incorporating the erotic sensation.
Shandilya said, “I made a film on a middle-class family. I cast big names like Rajkumar Rao and Mallika Sherawat in it. The reason for bringing Mallika was that the character we had written suited Mallika very well… the modern girls of that time were a perfect match for Mallika. That’s why I cast her. Otherwise, I have no association with her. My film is 97% family, 3% family. I have brought this mega-family in because of Mallika.”

Vicky Vidya’s Woh Wala video also features Tripti Dimri, Vijay Raj, Mast Ali, Archana Puran Singh, Mukesh Tiwari, Saharsh Kumar Shukla, Archana Patel, Rakesh Bedi, Tiku Talsania and Ashwini Kalsekar in pivotal roles. During the event, Bhushan Kumar also praised Rajkummar Rao and called him a brilliant actor.
“He plays every character well, be it comedy or a real-life story. When we offered him the role of Srikant, when I visited the sets, he was always in the character that he portrayed in the film,” Bhushan said. He added that nobody can beat Rao in comedy and he couldn’t imagine anyone else other than the Stree 2 star for this particular film.
The veteran producer appreciated the contribution of all the actors. Vicky Vidya’s Woh Wala video will hit the theatres on 11th October 2024.
