On Wednesday morning, Bollywood woke up to the sad news of the demise of Malaika Arora and Amrita Arora’s father Anil Mehta. Anil Mehta passed away on September 11, 2024. Malaika’s ex-husband Arbaaz Khan, ex-boyfriend Arjun Kapoor and other close ones visited her parents’ Bandra residence to offer condolences to her late father. Malaika and Arbaaz’s son Arhaan Khan was also spotted by the paparazzi outside their house. Arhaan was very upset after paying his last respects to his late grandfather. He was accompanied by his cousin Nirvaan Khan.
In a video posted by a paparazzi on Instagram, Arhaan Khan can be seen coming out of the building through a gate. Arhaan looked heartbroken as he got into the car with his aunt Amrita Arora. Sohail Khan and Seema Sajdeh’s son Nirvaan Khan was also seen with them. Nirvaan also got into the car after Arhaan.

A few hours ago, Malaika Arora shared an official statement on Instagram confirming the news of her father Anil Mehta’s demise. In her statement, Malaika announced the demise of her father on Wednesday. Calling him “a gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, a loving husband and our best friend”, the actress-model shared that the Arora family is in “deep shock”.
He also requested the media and well-wishers to maintain privacy during his difficult time.
The last rites of the late Anil Mehta will be performed on September 12 at 11 am at Santacruz Hindu Crematorium in Mumbai. It is reported that Malaika was in Pune at that time, but she came back to Mumbai after hearing the news of her father’s death.
Anil is survived by his wife Joyce Polycarp and two daughters Malaika Arora and Amrita Arora. Joyce is a Malayali Christian, while her father Anil Arora was a Punjabi Hindu from the border town of Fazilka, India.
