Bollywood actor Ishaan Khatter talks about dealing with anxiety and being ultra-independent among other things in a discussion on mental health
Ishaan Khatter is a charming guy who can also speak in depth when needed. The actor stunned us with his brilliant performance in his Hollywood debut in the webseries The perfect pair. Ishaan in an exclusive interview opened up about how he deals with anxiety, being hard on himself, how independent his personality is and more when the conversation turned to the topic of mental health. Ishaan was asked if he is happy with himself and who he is; to which he said, “I sleep well at night. I have a good idea of my priorities, my loyalties. I don’t worry too much about what people think. Always questioning yourself, that’s very important for me. I used to be hard on myself earlier but now I’m getting better at it.”

Speaking further, she was asked about being ultra-independent to which she replied, “Yeah, my mom has told me that as an observation about myself. I think I’ve always been a little bit like that. Also, maybe it’s because of the way my brother and I were raised or the values her family has. I don’t know what it is, but yeah, I think that’s who I am.”
Calling himself an obsessive person, Ishaan opened up about his mental health. “I have obsessive tendencies and an addictive personality, which is why I have to be careful in everything I do. I’m not an anxious person, but I tend to worry too much about things.” He further added that he has never taken therapy, but he thinks a lot about his childhood and he is working a lot on himself.

He also stated that he is a thinker, saying, "I think a lot, but I don't always express my thoughts. I have a lot of ideas, maybe I should write it down. I love notebooks. I buy a lot of them and make random notes." Elaborating further, he also explained how he sometimes writes his thoughts in a journal. "Very randomly. I have a lot of notebooks lying around, you'll find random notes. When I have like a feeling that's very powerful and bursts out of me, I sit down and just write it down. I think I can express it very clearly in words, so maybe I should write more.", he concluded.
