Tamil actor Vikram recently commented on the Hindi remake of his iconic film Anniyan starring Ranveer Singh. In a recent interview, the actor shared his thoughts on the project and expressed interest in seeing how the film will turn out. The Hindi remake of Anniyan was announced in August 2021.

Vikram, who is promoting his newly released film Thangalan, revealed if he would like to see a remake of his iconic film. DNA India“I think you should ask this to Shankar (director). He should have made a second part with me,” the actor joked.

Vikram added, “It’s very ambitious. But seriously, I felt Ranveer could have made a good Anniyan film. I would love to see his version because I really like him as a star. I think it will be interesting to see what he does with the story.”

The Hindi remake of Anniyan was announced in 2021. The film, which was dubbed in Telugu as Aparichitudu and in Hindi as Aparichit, will be remade in Hindi with Ranveer Singh in the lead role.

However, Oscar Ravichandran, the producer of the Tamil original, filed a complaint against Shankar with the South Indian Chamber of Commerce (SICC) and decided to take legal action against the director and producer Jayantilal. He alleged that the film was being remade without his consent.

Subsequently, director Shankar confirmed in July this year that the Hindi remake has been put on hold. In a statement to the press, he said, “The initial plan was to make Anniyan in Hindi with Ranveer Singh but now we have changed our plans. Our producers have asked us to make a bigger film than Anniyan, so talks are on. I will take a decision on it after the release of Game Changer and Indian 3.”

Vikram was last seen in Pa Ranjith’s film Thangalan. The film was released in theaters on August 15. At the same time, Ranveer Singh will next be seen in Rohit Shetty’s film Singham Again. The film is expected to release around Diwali 2024.
