Stand-up comedian and actor Vir Das is known for his quick wit and funny routines. In a recent widely shared video, the artist claimed that the Indian accent is the sexiest in the world. Vir shared a clip from The Daily Show on his Instagram handle, in which he was seen comparing different accents.

“Statistically, this is the sexiest accent in the world. Right now, more women are having sex with this accent than any other accent in the world. On your face, France,” the comedian joked. Vir shared the clip with a caption that read, “Statistics don’t lie. Our accent wins.”

The clip is from Vir’s appearance on American chat show The Daily Show a few months ago, where he spoke with actor and guest host Kal Penn about his career, India and upcoming projects, among other topics.

As soon as the clip was shared, fans reacted to the post in a positive way. A user commented, “I think you should collaborate with Hasan Minhaj. I don’t know about the internet but me and my boyfriend would lose our collective minds. Then you guys talk about accents.” Another person wrote, “National treasure.” While many others reacted with heart and fire emojis.
