According to industry tracker Sakcinlk, after a 43 per cent drop from Thursday’s collections, GOAT earned Rs 24 crore nett in India, of which Rs 22 crore came from the Tamil version alone. This takes the film’s two-day nett collection to Rs 68.75 crore. On Friday, the film recorded an occupancy of 60.38 per cent in Tamil. With a massive drop on Friday, GOAT should rise over the weekend, especially considering that it was made on a hefty budget of Rs 380 crore. “Looking ahead, a sustained growth over the weekend is the most important,” said film trade expert Taran Adarsh.

Despite being released mid-week (on a Thursday), #goat Even without screening at major national chains, it managed to deliver a strong total on its first day (#PVR, #Inox And #Cinepolis) across #northindia,

It is worth noting that GOAT’s first day worldwide box office collection was less than Vijay’s 2023 release Leo. According to Seven Screen Studios, the production company backing the film, the film grossed Rs 148.5 crore on its first day.

The film has been well received by audiences and has praised Thalapathy Vijay’s performance in his last film before he fully jumped into politics. Janani K of IndiaToday.in reviewed the film stating, “The director has made a fitting tribute film to Vijay but struggles with the basic story.”

Directed by Venkat Prabhu, GOAT stars Vijay in two roles. The supporting cast includes Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Mohan, Sneha, Jayaram, Laila, Meenakshi Chowdhary and Ajmal Ameer. The music of GOAT is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Cinematographer Siddharth Nuni and editor Venkat Rajan are part of the technical crew.
