From ‘Masaan’ to ‘Sonchiraiya’, 5 Bollywood films that should be re-released

Masaan, Sonchiriya – films that should be re-released.

It’s the season of re-releases. Many films have been re-released in theatres and have done better than the first time. Films like ‘Laila Majnu’ and ‘Rehnaa Hai Tere Dil Mein’ have done better and this film starring Avinash Tiwari and Tripti Dimri, which is still running in theatres, has already crossed its lifetime collections. Re-releases in today’s time seem like a second life for films that did not do well the first time but became popular with the audience over time.

As the list of films getting re-released grows, here are five films we wish would get re-released soon. From ‘Masaan’ to the cult classic ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’ and the socially relevant ‘Sonchiraiya’, here’s the list, on Wishlist Wednesday.

Masaan

This film of Neeraj Ghaywan will touch your heart And it will stay with you long after it’s over. With no ‘big’ names at the time of release, people didn’t pay much attention to it at that time. But once it became available online, it became very popular. Not just the narrative and execution, but the acting too the best,

This is a film that the audience should watch on the big screen. From the songs to the setting, the story and the direction, this is one of those films that can be called absolutely perfect. What could be better than giving the audience a chance to watch this great film on the big screen once again?

Sunbird

Sonchiriya is a very good movie Which failed to connect with the audience upon release. Featuring a stellar cast of Manoj Bajpayee, Sushant Singh Rajput and Bhumi Pednekar, Abhishek Chaubey’s film is still socially relevant and is a treat for audiences who want to watch a film beyond the big, happy ending genres.

Upon release, people complained that there was something wrong with the film as the makers tried to keep the language authentic. Unfortunately, there were many releases around it, including a clash with ‘Luka Chuppi’, which affected its collections. However, we feel that now people are ready for such subjects and ‘Sonchiraiya’ will get love and appreciation and a new audience when it is re-released.

Let it go friends

It would be a great experience to watch a movie that released 41 years ago on the big screen, right? And what could be better than watching a movie that released 41 years ago on the big screen. The cult classic ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’The comedy, which was being described as a film way ahead of its time, may now find the right time and audience. The film stars some of the biggies of the film industry – including Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Kapur, Om Puri, Ravi Baswani and Satish Kaushik. Also, comedy never fails to entertain, and a well-made satire is perfect to watch on the big screen.

’83

The failure of ’83 left many in the film industry completely confused. It was a good movie directed by Kabir Khan.Ranveer Singh gave an honest performance as Kapil Dev, getting his nuances right. The film also marked the debut of several stars and everyone gave their best. Still, the film was like a dead ball, rejected by the audience. Maybe it was the pandemic, maybe it was the timing – but audiences did not flock to theatres to watch it at that time.

However, times have changed a lot, albeit in a very short span of time, now the audience has developed an appetite for good storytelling and execution. Now, if ’83 is re-released it might get the love it deserves.

october

Shoojit Sircar’s poignant drama film was much talked about and was widely discussed. However, it did not get an audience in theaters. This was because some people called the film slow, while some people found it unable to connect with the audience. However, the film found an audience on OTT, who praised it a lot. It has been showered with love over the years.

Is this movie worth watching on the big screen? We think it’s a good movie and we also think it deserves a second life.

Which movies do you want to see on the big screen again? Let us know in the comments.
