Malayalam actor Prithviraj on Hema committee: Punishment should be exemplary

Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran has reacted to the Hema Committee report released by the Kerala government. Speaking to the media during a recent event in Kochi on Monday, August 26, the actor said that a thorough investigation should be conducted and an exemplary punishment should be given if the allegations are proven.
Prithviraj said, “Allegations have been made. A thorough investigation is needed. And if the allegations are proven true, then there should be severe punishment for it. On the other hand, even if the allegations are false, the other party should still get severe punishment.”

He said, “Either way, these allegations should be taken with utmost seriousness. This is the beginning of a process which will clear all doubts and allegations. I am not surprised by the Hema Committee report. I am among those who had given a statement when that committee was formed.”
There have been several allegations in the Malayalam film industry, which has created a stir in the industry. These allegations include artists like director Ranjit and actor Jayasurya.
