Superstar Rajinikanth recently arrived in Vizag to begin the shooting of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s film Coolie. The Jailer actor was also seen clicking selfies with fans who were eagerly waiting for his arrival at the airport. Several videos of him arriving in Vizag are now going viral on social media.
According to media reports, the actor will be shooting for Coolie in Vizag for around 40 days. Some of the key scenes of the film will be shot in and around the city. Meanwhile, Rajinikanth has dedicated around 160 days for the next phase of the project.

For those who don’t know, Coolie is superstar Rajinikanth’s first film with director Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film is expected to be released all over India and is targeted to be released in theatres in the second half of 2025.
Based on the first glimpse of the project, this action thriller is set against the backdrop of gold smuggling mafia.
In this film, Thalaivar will reportedly play a complex character involved in the illegal trade of gold. The film will have an entertaining story along with action, similar to Lokesh Kanagaraj’s other projects.
Apart from Rajinikanth, the film will also feature Shruti Haasan in a pivotal role. Actor Sathyaraj will also be reuniting with Thalaivar for Coolie after working together in 1986. Other notable actors who will be a part of the project are Mahendran, Upendra and others.
However, there were rumours of a rift between Rajinikanth and Sathyaraj during the Cauvery water dispute. Many believed that there was some kind of tension between the two veteran stars over a speech by the Baahubali actor.
Nevertheless, Sathyaraj’s son Sibiraj revealed during the promotions of his film Maayan that the two actors respect each other. Sathyaraj also revealed that he turned down roles in Rajinikanth’s films such as Sivaji and Endhiran, not because of any controversy but because of being dissatisfied with the roles offered to him.
