Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer horror-comedy Stree 2 has emerged as a historic blockbuster at the box office. The Amar Kaushik-directed film has created an all-time record by surpassing Animal on its second Saturday i.e. its 10th release day. According to estimates, Stree 2 saw a massive jump on its second Saturday and earned Rs 33-34 crore in India, which is likely to grow even higher.
Stree 2 sets the record for the highest earnings on the second Saturday
Stree 2’s blockbuster theatrical run continues with a stellar performance in its second weekend. After earning a whopping Rs 292 crore (including previews), the film has maintained its dominance in the second weekend earning Rs 18.50 crore on the 9th day and around Rs 34 crore on the 10th day. The film witnessed a growth of 83% today and registered the biggest second Saturday ever, beating the previous best performance of Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal (Rs 33 crore).
Stree 2’s total collection in 10 days at the Indian box office has reached Rs 344.50 crore. Looking at the trend and momentum of the horror-comedy’s performance, it is set to register another big day on its second Sunday. The film will also get the benefit of Janmashtami holiday on Monday and will join the Rs 400 crore club.
Stree 2 to be aired for 6 weeks free of cost, aiming to end Jawan’s lifetime victory
The film, releasing on Independence Day, will have a hassle-free 6-week run as there are no major Hindi film releases in the month of September. Stree 2 has a chance to surpass the lifetime Hindi collections of Animal, Pathan and Gadar 2 and will also surpass the final numbers of Jawaan by the end of its theatrical run.
If this Shraddha Kapoor film continues to grow at this pace, it can surpass Jawaan in terms of Hindi net collection. The film has proved its tagline right, which says, ‘She is a woman, she can do anything!’

Stree 2 begins where Stree ends. The slogans on the walls of Chanderi change from ‘O Stree kal aana’ to ‘O Stree raksha karna’ (O woman, please protect us). This time, there is a new ghost in the form of Sar-Kata (beheaded) who kidnaps women with modern thoughts and beliefs. Vicky (Rajkummar Rao) and his friends come together to find and fight the headless ghost, who is even more powerful than Stree.
