Rajkummar Rao is currently busy promoting his upcoming film Stree 2. The horror comedy opposite Shraddha Kapoor is set to hit the theatres on August 15, 2024. As the film nears its release date, the lead actor Aapka Apna Zakir appeared on the show. While the stars discussed their most-awaited film, they also talked about their first salary. Meanwhile, Rao revealed that he bought desi ghee from his first salary as a dance teacher.
Rajkummar Rao went back in time and said that when he was in high school, he used to teach a 7-year-old girl dance at her home. He used to charge Rs 300 for training her. After a month, he was very happy when he got six Rs 50 notes for the first time. Since his family’s financial condition was not good at that time, he decided to buy some groceries with his first earnings.
After buying everything, when he had some money left, he bought desi ghee. “For us, putting ghee on roti was a big deal,” the Bollywood veteran revealed. During the same conversation, he also talked about the time when his parents sent him to the US to study. But since they wanted him to stay grounded and connected to his roots, they kept him on a budget and used to send him limited pocket money every month.
But they allowed him to work elsewhere if he wanted to earn some extra money. So, the Srikanth actor started working at a coffee house. There, he managed to get a job. “My first check was for $40,” which he spent on food. Talking about his upcoming film, Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank, it is a sequel to the 2018 box office hit film Stree.
Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film is the fifth installment of the Maddock Supernatural Universe, starring Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana in supporting roles.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Rajkummar Rao will be next seen in Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, followed by Bhool Chook Maaf.
