A look inside Sonam Kapoor’s luxurious Indian heritage-inspired Mumbai home

From her stucco building in Notting Hill, the actress has moved to a condominium in Mumbai. Skeptical at first, Sonam slowly started admiring her new Mumbai home, which features “double-height ceilings and expanse of lateral space”. She began to enjoy the “idea of ​​creating a spectacle out of sheer nothingness”. Designed by her aunt Kavita Singh, Sonam’s abode in the city of dreams pays tribute to Indian craftsmanship and heritage at its best.

The living room features a collection of colourful and exquisitely executed Tanjore paintings hanging on the walls. A custom sofa from the label Kavita Singh Interiors is adorned with Mughal-inspired décor. Zardosi And Jamwar Cushions. These were woven from antique textiles. Surrounding the plush sofas were a set of brass tables which were placed on a Sarouk wool rug. Talking about the bar area, the furniture here was made from teak wood. Austrian silver candelabra added to the overall luxury.

The royal dressing table adorned the walls with blue and white colour. Venetian mirrors, dhurrie rugs and silverware were the perfect addition to the décor. Don’t forget to check out the old-fashioned candle stands as they were mesmerizing. The main bedroom had Rajasthani style jaali that stood behind the padded bed. Dramatic chandeliers and comfortable bedding reflected the royal ambiance. Chinese and Dutch pottery including silver items added to the beauty of the room.

Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s son Vayu’s room was designed to give a jungle vibe. The walls were dominated by jungle graffiti. There was custom-made furniture and stuffed animals including a 1960s-inspired Art Deco chandelier. A rocking horse toy from Hermes was placed on top of a quirky table lamp. White bedding with illustrated covers further added to the childlike feel of the room.

Guest rooms feature custom walls, a chandelier, a Victorian Colonial Campaign Mandalay musical chest, and stunning color-coordinated bedding arrangements, vintage chairs, and an antique bench placed in perfect locations.
