Actor John Abraham recently spoke about the challenges he faces in convincing producers for his film projects. During a podcast, he revealed that he often finds it difficult to talk to producers, with many rejecting his ideas and citing concerns over the high budget.

Speaking to Ranveer Allahabadia on his podcast, John Abraham said, “I produced ‘Vicky Donor’. I did films like ‘Madras Cafe’, ‘Batla House’ – but till date I had to convince the studio heads that this is a different film, and please fund my process. Till date, they don’t believe it 100 per cent, and they tell me the budget is too high.”

John, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film “Veda”, said he doesn’t charge more than his “means”. “As an actor, my fees don’t put a burden on the film. I feel if the film makes money, I will also make money. I don’t want to put a burden on the film,” he said. So whatever is my status, whatever is my standard“I make films accordingly. I am very proud of my content.”

John Abraham also revealed in the podcast that he doesn’t use WhatsApp, as he believes it hinders communication with studio heads and may affect their response time. “I messaged a studio head, and he told me he would get back, but it’s been 4.5 months and he hasn’t responded. I don’t feel bad, but I deserve a response. I believe if people have even a little faith in me, I would like to try and change Indian cinema a little bit. I’m not saying I’m a game changer, but I want to try”, he said.

Talking about the work front, John Abraham will be next seen in ‘Veda’. The film with Sharvari Wagh in the lead role will be released in theaters on August 15.
