Actor Vijay Antony on controversial clip in ‘Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan’: Not me

Actor-composer Vijay Antony opened up about the controversial one-minute clip in his recently released film ‘Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan’. He and director Vijay Milton claimed that they were unaware of who added the animated clip.

Musician-turned-actor Vijay Antony shared a statement on August 5 stating that he had no hand in adding a one-minute animated clip to his recently released film ‘Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan’. He also said that the film is not a sequel to ‘Saleem’. Two days ago, director Vijay Milshan said in a video message that he was unaware of the one-minute animated clip (which revealed the entire story) that was added to the film without his consent.

In a statement, Vijay Antony wrote, “This is not me. My brother and director Vijay Milton is hurt that a two-minute clip was added to ‘Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan’ without his permission. This is not me. This is not Salim 2.”

His statement is as follows:

Replying to his post, Vijay Milton wrote, “Vijay Antony sir, thanks for the clarification. We have come a long way, it has been a comfortable journey. We are more understanding and comfortable with each other because of the passion and focus we put into this art.”

He also wrote in Tamil, which translates to, “The issue between him and the producer has been resolved, thanks to Sarathkumar. As of today, the animated clip is now removed. The Telugu version of the movie #Toofan will release on 9th August. Let’s go ahead with the hit. Thanks to all those who raised their voice against this.”

Soon after the release of ‘Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan’ on August 2, Vijay Milton was shocked to see an animated clip while watching the special premiere show.

After the video went viral, actor Sarathkumar, who plays a key role in the film, held a meeting with the makers of the film. Director Vijay Milton and the producers resolved the differences and agreed to remove the animated clip. The revised version of the film will be screened in theatres from today i.e. August 5.

‘Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan’ stars Vijay Antony, Sarathkumar, Sathyaraj, Prithvi Ambar and Megha Akash in the lead roles. The film is receiving negative response from critics and audiences alike.
