Chris Evans and his wife, Alba Batista, have considered adding another pet dog to their family. Their dilemma is between raising a puppy or adopting an older dog to live with their existing pet, Dodger. The couple is particularly impressed by stories of older dogs finding new homes after difficult lives.
In a recent interview with People magazine, the former Captain America star said, “We both need to ease into it a little bit. We’ve always said, ‘Well, maybe we’ll go to the shelter,’ and I’m like, ‘Listen, do you really think we’d walk in there and not walk in with at least a dog?’ There’s no way. So if we actually do decide to walk in the door, we’ll walk out with a dog.”
However, they did not do anything despite thinking about it. Evans said they would need some time off before taking on the responsibility of having another animal in their home. She said if they went to a shelter, chances were high they would come home with another dog.
On the other hand, Chris Evans works to support dogs in different ways. Starting in 2022, he has been working with Jinx, a high-quality premium dog food brand that ensures dogs get good nutrition. It has been announced that the company will donate five percent of every purchase at Walmart effective August 1 to the United Service Organizations (USO) and the USO Canine Program that assist active military personnel.
Evans believes that good nutrition should be available to everyone who owns a pet and should not be limited to those who can afford it. Dodger’s love for Jinx products has been a huge influence on his association with the company.
The Knives Out star told the outlet, “At the end of the day, Dodger is a real temperature check for me. He loves it, and that’s all I needed to be a part of it.” In Evans’ reflection, he explains that even at ten years old this year, Dodger still never stops entertaining him with his fun behavior.
Dodger loves being around other dogs, but whether he would like to stay in their home, especially at night, is something Evan is unsure about. He said, “I wish I knew if that’s what he wanted. I wish I could ask him because he loves being around the dogs. But when it’s time to sleep, if another dog comes in the room, he might say, ‘Wait.’ So I don’t know.”
Chris Evans rocked the theaters after 17 years by returning as Johnny Storm in Marvel’s Deadpool and Wolverine. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he called it an unforgettable experience. He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity through an Instagram story where he thanked the film’s cast and director. Evans made a special mention to Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and Shawn Levy as they are some of the best people ever. He thanked Ryan Reynolds for making this comeback possible, saying that playing the role of Johnny Storm was a dream come true and the character is always close to his heart.
