Francis Coppola faces criticism for unprofessional behavior on the set of ‘Megalopolis’
A video of famous director Francis Ford Coppola is going viral in which he is trying to kiss women on the set of his upcoming film ‘Megalopolis’. This clip has given rise to widespread discussion.
A video has emerged in which acclaimed director Francis Ford Coppola is seen kissing extras on the set of his highly anticipated film ‘Megalopolis’. The revelation comes amid growing concerns from crew members who have reported incidents of unprofessional behaviour during the making of the film.
The footage, which has been spreading rapidly on social media platforms, shows Coppola engaging in affectionate acts with several extras. While some have seen these antics as harmless and a sign of Coppola’s affectionate personality, others see it as crossing professional boundaries.
One person on X wrote, “Francis Ford Coppola, the man who financed child sex offender Victor Salva and threatened to sue Salva’s 12-year-old victim, turns out to be a vile person? No surprise there. God, I hope hell exists, because people like this deserve it.”
Another person wrote, “I’ve changed my expectation list, damn Francis Ford Coppola.”
Coppola, known for masterpieces such as “The Godfather” trilogy and “Apocalypse Now,” has yet to say anything publicly about the video.
Earlier, when the director was accused of misbehaving on the set, he had told new York Times“My mother told me that if you make advances towards a woman, it means you disrespect her, and the girls I had a crush on, I certainly did not disrespect them.” When asked about a photo that is being widely circulated on the internet in which he is seen kissing a ‘girl’, the director said that the photo was taken by the ‘girl’s father’. “I am not sentimental. I am very shy.”
Coppola’s next highly anticipated film ‘Megalopolis’ stars Adam Driver in the lead role. Apart from him, the film also stars actors like Aubrey Plaza, Shia LaBeouf, Jon Voight, Jason Schwartzman, Laurence Fishburne, Kathryn Hunter, Grace Vanderwaal and Dustin Hoffman.
The release date for Megalopolis has not yet been announced.
