2. Ram Ashray, Matunga

People in the city love to eat South Indian food for breakfast. One of the best places to visit – which opens at dawn – is Ram Ashray in Matunga. The place is always bustling, but rather noisy and devoid of decor. But the unmatched taste of the food and the affordable prices are what attract people from all over. If you are not from the city, visiting here for breakfast will also give you an interesting glimpse into how many busy Mumbaikars start their day.
Where: Shop 3-6 Ground Floor, Jamnadas Haveli, Bazaar, Laxmi Narayan Lane, Matunga (CR), Matunga East, Mumbai.

3. Cafe Madras, Matunga

Another great place for South Indian cuisine is Cafe Madras. This heritage restaurant was established in 1940. You can enjoy their affordable classics: idlis, dosas, vadas and upmas. Wash it down with their famous filter coffee for a delicious caffeine boost in the morning. Like Ramashrya, if you want to eat like the locals, this is the place for you.
