‘Veda’ hasn’t received approval from film body yet, makers issue statement
The makers of John Abraham’s film ‘Veda’ have announced that the film is awaiting clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), creating uncertainty over its release date. The film was scheduled to release on August 15.

The makers of John Abraham and Sharvari Wagh’s film ‘Veda’ have released a statement regarding the film’s release date. In the official note, they informed that the film is yet to receive approval from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
John Abraham’s film ‘Veda’ was scheduled to release on August 15. The statement issued by the producers said, “We, the producers of Veda, are compelled to share with our fans and supporters that despite our best efforts, we are still yet to receive the approval and certification from the Indian CBFC.”
It further said, “Following the protocol, we applied for certification eight weeks before the scheduled release. Our film was screened before the CBFC on June 25. Subsequently, it was sent for review by a revised committee without any clarification from us as to what the concerns or objections of the esteemed examining committee were.”
It further added, “Since then, we have waited patiently for the constitution of the Revision Committee, impressed upon all the respected and honourable functionaries and have repeatedly documented on a daily basis our appeals for certification, consideration or even clarifications. Despite this inordinate delay, we have full faith in the existing system and are confident that the CBFC will duly oblige us.”
The note read, “It is our heartfelt request and wish that these words reach those who can help us resolve and overcome this impasse and get our film certified. August 15 is a special date on which we are fortunate to find ourselves in a position to bring our film to the fans of John Abraham and Nikkhil Advani, who supported our previous releases Satyameva Jayate and Batla House on the same date.”
The note ended with, “Veda is a powerful, entertaining film, inspired by current events. We believe it deserves to reach its audience. It is our sincere effort to ensure that we are able to keep our engagement with you,” and was signed below, “Thank you. Zee Studios, Emme Entertainment, JA Entertainment (sic).”
