Earlier this year, when Neil Young and Crazy Horse hit the road for the first time since 2019, their shows received an overwhelming response from fans. However, months later, the band announced the cancellation of their remaining tour dates as several members of the group fell ill.

“When a few of us got sick after Pine Knob in Detroit, we had to stop. We’re still not fully recovered, so sadly there will be a big unplanned break in our amazing tour,” the band wrote in a statement last month.

So, we’re happy to report that Neil Young has announced an upcoming concert for himself and a cause close to his heart. The 78-year-old singer will be performing at Farm Aid, a New York benefit festival, this fall.

More details below!

Neil Young will perform at New York’s Farm Aid Festival this September

The music festival announced its lineup of performers on Tuesday, July 23, which includes Young along with Willie Nelson and family, Dave Matthews (with Tim Reynolds), John Mellencamp, Charley Crockett, Mavis Staples, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats and more. Young has been a regular at the annual event, with the exception of 2021 and 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year’s Farm Aid will be held on September 21 at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, New York. Additional artists are expected to be announced for the festival lineup at a later date. Tickets for the festival go on sale on Friday, July 26 at 10 a.m. ET.

Will Crazy Horse also perform at the 2024 Ohana Festival?

Young and company were also forced to postpone shows in Chicago, Austin and Dallas due to illness, before the band canceled the remainder of their Love Earth Tour in June. Similarly, Crazy Horse also withdrew from the 2024 Ohana Festival, citing health concerns. They were scheduled to perform there on September 28.

Now, in the wake of Young returning to the stage for the aforementioned event that same month, albeit without his band mates, we wonder if Crazy Horse is also considering reviving its Ohana Festival event.
