Paintings often immortalise things that are valued and loved. For many foodies, nothing beats the obsession with their favourite dishes. If you love idli-sambar, there’s a viral video that’s sure to entice you. An artist recently shared a realistic depiction of this delicious combo on canvas. In the reel, Rucha Limaye (@ruandchai) can be seen asking her husband what she should make. He replies, “Idli Sambar” and she proceeds to carefully paint a delicious-looking bowl of the same.

The painting shows the idli placed in a bowl of sambhar, but not completely submerged. Rucha has added fine details showing other vegetables of the curry around the idli, the sambar seeping into the sides of the idli, etc. In the caption, she explained what inspired the format of the reel. She wrote, “We have been seeing a lot of videos of food creators asking their spouses what they would like to eat, so…. we adopted the trend in our own way!” Watch the full video below to see her husband’s reaction:
