According to a 2020 Sacramento Bee report, Ms Harris gave money to a non-profit organisation that “advocates for civil and human rights for Central Americans” during the start of Trump’s presidential campaign.

According to a report NewsweekAt the time, Mr Trump was a heavy donor to Democrats. He also gave $1,000 to then-Senator Joe Biden’s campaign in 2001. In 2002, he donated $5,000 to the New York State Democratic Party.

Mr Trump donated $10,000 to Andrew Cuomo and $15,000 to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in support of his candidacy for New York attorney general in 2006. In 2010, he supported Kirsten Gillibrand’s campaign for US Senate.
