Rakhi Sawant’s tears, questions and message to PM on students’ protest video

Actress and social media personality Rakhi Sawant has exchanged her trademark theatrics for an emotional appeal, sharing a tearful video in support of the students protesting in New Delhi. In the clip now going viral, Sawant broke down in tears while demanding accountability for the violence against students during the Cockroach Janata Party’s (CJP) Chalo Sansad march on Monday.
Sawant, looking emotional, directly addressed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and questioned those in power over the police action against the students. He criticized the use of force against the protesters and compared the Delhi Police to British colonialists.

In the video, Sawant cried and said, “What is your problem, Modi ji? They are torturing the children so much, for the sake of chair, they are lathi charging the children. (Modi ji, what has happened to you? Why are you doing so much cruelty on children just to remain in power? You are ordering lathi charge on students).”
He continued, “there is no mercy at all On the children of the country? What will you do with the chair? Shame on everyone. You should be ashamed. Is this Delhi Police or the British? (Don’t you have even the slightest compassion for the children of the country? What will you achieve by remaining glued to your chair? Everyone should be ashamed. Shame on you. Is it the Delhi Police, or are they behaving like the British?)”
Sawant is not alone in his emotional outburst. Over the past few days, he has turned his Instagram feed into an ongoing commentary on the student movement, sharing videos of injured protesters and repeatedly expressing support for their demands. His post has impressed many students, who have flooded the comments section with messages of appreciation and asked him to join the demonstration in person.
One such appeal quickly gained attention online. In an Instagram reel, two students held a placard that showed Rakhi Sawant in a politician’s attire with the words “Rakhi ji abki bari.” Looking at the camera he shouted, “Rakhi ji! Where are you Rakhi ji?(Rakhi ji, where are you?), inviting them to join the protests on the ground.
The movement started by the Cockroach Janata Party in the wake of the NEET paper leak has since grown nationwide campaign There were demands for greater transparency in the examination system, strict security measures against paper leaks and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
The campaign reached its biggest moment during the Chalo Sansad march in Delhi on 20 July, when thousands of students gathered at Jantar Mantar before clashes broke out after police stopped them from marching towards Parliament. Since then, the protests have continued to gain momentum, receiving support from public figures, activists and members of the film industry alike.
