In a series of videos posted on her Instagram Stories, Ayesha appeared visibly shaken as she described the incident. She said, “Right now my hands are literally shaking. I have been detained in a police van for standing peacefully on the road. I didn’t say a word. I didn’t even start protesting. I was just standing because my brother, my male friends were detained and we were just standing on the road. Me and my two other female friends.”
In another video, Ayesha was heard asking police officers where they were taking the detained people.
In a separate clip, she requested the officers not to push her while she was being escorted.
The protest in Mumbai was organized in support of the student-led demonstration in Delhi over irregularities in the NEET exam. Similar protests have taken place in several cities in the past few days.

In a long video recorded from Worli police station, Ayesha said she had reached the protest site around 4 pm to show solidarity with the NEET aspirants and students who died by suicide. He alleged that the group had not even started protesting when the police intervened. According to the actor, they neither raised slogans nor displayed placards and were simply standing on the roadside after some of his friends and his brother were taken away in a police van.
Ayesha said that about 15 policemen, including female officers, surrounded her and her two female friends and asked them to sit in the police van. “I kept asking why we were being detained. We were just standing on the road. We hadn’t even started the protest. No one answered us,” she said.
The actress further claimed that she and her friends were forcibly taken to Worli police station. While he said the police station officials spoke to him politely, he questioned the actions of the personnel at the protest site. Ayesha alleged that while being detained, she and her friends were pushed and asked which law they had violated. He also claimed that they were just three people standing together and questioned why they were detained when, according to him, the restrictions being cited have not yet been implemented.
