Shabana Azmi’s health deteriorates during CJP protest, volunteers help in comforting her
Veteran actress Shabana Azmi’s health deteriorated during the Cockroach Janata Party protest at Jantar Mantar. His presence and call for peaceful demonstration inspired many, as thousands of people gathered in Delhi to support the cause.
Actress Shabana Azmi reportedly felt unwell during the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on Monday. A video from the protest site showed the 75-year-old actor being assisted by volunteers and security personnel and taken to a security cabin after he wandered among the crowd.
In the video shared by the Instagram page tube lightAzmi was seen being helped through the crowd and taken to a place where she could rest. Volunteers were also seen fanning her as she sat inside the cabin.

Azmi had joined thousands of protesters at Jantar Mantar in support of CJP’s student-led movement. She was sharing updates from the protest site on social media, including a video of her traveling in a truck with actor Prakash Raj and a video of her wading through the crowd with the help of fellow protesters.
According to reports from the protest site, Azmi started feeling unwell amid the gathering, following which volunteers and security personnel took him to a security cabin so he could rest and receive assistance.
Earlier in the day, Azmi had shared a photo of herself traveling in a truck with Prakash Raj during the protest march. In the caption, he referred to the government’s decision to hold talks with CJP leaders.
He wrote, “In the truck. The government has finally agreed to talks. This is a peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar for educational reforms.”

In another video, Azmi can be seen crossing the barricade with the help of fellow protesters. “I’ve arrived here. Seeing the energy here and so many people gives you courage,” she said in the clip.
Speaking to PTI Video during the march, Azmi said the protesters had no intention of resorting to violence.
He said, “We have come here to hold a peaceful protest. It is a right guaranteed by our Constitution. Mahatma Gandhi taught us the path of non-violence. We have no intention of resorting to violence.”
Asked about the absence of Bollywood celebrities from the movement, Azmi said the focus should be on the issues raised by the protesters.
Azmi’s participation in the CJP protests and his comments on peaceful demonstrations came as thousands of people gathered at Jantar Mantar on Monday. Many celebrities from the film fraternity including Bhumi Pednekar, Huma Qureshi and Sutapa Sikdar also extended their support.
