Lava last week announced its partnership with Flipkart for its new Viraat smartphone series and said that the Viraat V1 will launch in India on July 21. Well, the launch has been rescheduled to July 24, and Lava has announced that it will unveil the Viraat V1 and Viraat V1 5G as the first smartphones of the Viraat series next Friday.
Additionally, Lava and Flipkart revealed the specs of both the Virat series smartphones.
The Lava Virat V1 5G will be powered by Unisoc T8200 SoC, have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage, and will run Android 16 out of the box with no ads or bloatware. It will have a 6.75″ HD+ 120Hz display and a 6,000 mAh battery.
Virat V1 5G will have a dual camera setup at the back, which will have a 13MP camera. It will have a 5MP camera on the front for selfies and video calls. The V1 5G will also be IP64-rated and will come in two colors – Arya Blue and Sonar Gold.
Lava Virat V1 5G
The Lava Virat V1 will be powered by Unisoc’s SC9863A along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. However, unlike the V1 5G, the V1 will run Android 15 Go edition out of the box. But the good thing is that it will not contain ads or bloatware.
The V1 will have the same screen size and resolution as the V1 5G; However, it is unclear whether the panel will support a 120Hz refresh rate or not, as it is neither mentioned in the press release received from Lava nor advertised on the Flipkart promo page.
The V1 also has a smaller battery capacity – 5,000 mAh. But it will come with a 13MP dual-camera setup, 5MP selfie camera and IP64 rating. Additionally, the smartphone will also have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, which has not yet been confirmed for the V1 5G, but we see no reason why it wouldn’t have one, unless Lava manages to introduce an in-display fingerprint scanner with it.
The Virat V1 will also have two color options – Nilgiri Blue and Himalayan Silver.
Lava Virat V1
Lava will sell the Virat V1 and V1 5G exclusively through Flipkart, and will offer its free home service to customers of both the smartphones.
Lava has not yet revealed the price of any of these smartphones, but it was earlier confirmed that the Virat series smartphones will be priced under Rs 25,000.
