Sutlej’s co-writer Niren Bhatt said that he too was not aware as to why the rating was removed. “We didn’t know when the movie was going to be released, and we didn’t even know when it was pulled. And now it’s the IMDb rating, we don’t know who had a problem with it, what the problem was, or why. There was just no communication,” he said in an interview. Hindustan Times.

Bhatt had earlier criticized this, calling it a lack of transparency in the film’s prolonged release battle. talking to Variety IndiaHe said, “I think someone in the establishment has a bigger problem than this, but the real issue is the complete lack of communication. For years, it has been just pure stonewalling. There is complete silence from the CBFC side. They won’t tell us what their problem is, what part displeases them or who is making these calls.”

The author further added, “Even now, ZEE5 issues a statement about ‘current developments’ but cannot reveal what exactly those developments are. If there is a problem, let us have a dialogue. But how can you have a dialogue when they silently remove your work?”

Responding to claims that the film could be weaponized by “anti-India forces” or international elements, Bhatt rejected the argument. He said, “This argument is simply not correct. If.” kashmir files can exist, if story of kerala can exist, then why can they exist without being called tools for international forces? Why has our film been chosen which will suddenly be misused by extremist elements? You can’t jump to far-reaching, disturbing conclusions to suppress a straightforward biography. It makes absolutely no sense.”

Before it is pulled, Satluj Earned immense critical acclaim. India Today, in its review, gave the film a stellar four-star rating, praising its restraint and writing. It read, “For years, the film became a tale of censorship before audiences could appreciate it as cinema. But strip away the politics surrounding its release and what remains is far more haunting – a deeply human story about memory, accountability and an ordinary man who refused to let thousands of people disappear twice.”

Satluj It also stars actors Arjun Rampal, Kanwaljeet Singh, Suvinder Vicky and Geetika Vidya Ohlyan in lead roles.
