The Ernakulam Judicial First Class Magistrate Court has directed the police to register a case against Malayalam actor Tiny Tom based on the complaint by actor Ansiba Hassan.
Ansiba is known for his role Drishyam Films had alleged that Teeny Tom and some members of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) had defamed his character and made false communal allegations against him.

In his complaint, Ansiba claimed that an AMMA member informed him that Tiny Tom had allegedly called him a “jihadi”, accused him of attempting to convert his driver to Islam and spread rumors about his personal life. He has said that these allegations were defamatory and have caused serious damage to his reputation.
Ansiba had initially approached the Kadavanthara police with his complaint. Although her statement was recorded, the police did not file a First Information Report (FIR), saying they had not found sufficient material to initiate criminal proceedings.
Subsequently, she moved the Ernakulam Judicial First Class Magistrate Court seeking intervention. The court has now directed the police to register the case and proceed as per law.
The allegations against Tiny Tom remain claims made by the complainant. The court order relates to registration of a case and should not be construed as a conclusion on the merits of the allegations. Now this matter is expected to proceed through legal process.
