Singer Ila Arun has shared a message in support of singer Alka Yagnik after her wheelchair video went viral and some people questioned whether she can sing again. Arun’s post came soon after Yagnik was awarded the Padma Bhushan and shared an update on his health.
Yagnik was awarded the Padma Bhushan on June 23 and received the honor from President Draupadi Murmu at the second investiture ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi on Tuesday. A day later, she expressed her gratitude on Instagram and shared that she is silently battling sensorineural hearing loss.

Responding to comments about Yagnik, Arun wrote, “For those doubting Alka Yagnik ji, I see comments that she ‘can’t sing anymore’ after being awarded Padma Bhushan.
He further added, “Alka ji has given India magic for decades. The entire nation is proud of her Padma Bhushan, and rightly so. We must not forget what she has given us. Miracles happen. Strength returns. And voices find their way back. I have had the pleasure of singing many songs with her, and I look forward to singing with her again.” Arun concluded, “Dear Alka, I love you – your strength, your positivity. I see you coming back with full enthusiasm. With lots of love and blessings.”
