An 18-year-old man has died after being found with suspected stab wounds outside Poole Hospital in Dorset early on Friday, sparking a major murder investigation and the arrest of five people.Police said the teen was discovered on Longfleet Road near the hospital shortly before 2.15am. Medical staff took him inside for emergency treatment, but he died a short time later.
The victim is believed to have been attacked elsewhere
Investigators believe the teen may have been injured during an incident in Dale Close, about a mile from the hospital. According to the police, she was allegedly taken away by car before being dropped near the entrance of the hospital.A police cordon has been maintained at Dale Close while forensic teams investigate the scene and collect evidence.
Three arrested on suspicion of murder
Dorset Police have arrested three people on suspicion of murder – a 20-year-old man from Poole and two Bournemouth residents aged 36 and 38.In addition, a 22-year-old man from London and another 22-year-old man from Bletchley, Buckinghamshire, have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.All five suspects remain in police custody and detectives continue their inquiries.
Police appealed for CCTV and dashcam footage
Detective Superintendent Neil Third said officers had informed the victim’s family of the developments and expressed their condolences.“We do not underestimate the concern and frustration that an incident of this nature is causing in the community,” he said, adding that police moved quickly to make arrests and carry forward the investigation.Officers are urging anyone who was in the Dale Close or Longfleet Road area on Friday morning and who may have relevant CCTV, doorbell camera or dashcam footage to contact police.
