Delhi High Court on Friday postponed the hearing on the petition seeking to stop the release of actor Salman Khan. Blackbuck: Battle of the LegacyThe film is reportedly inspired by his 1998 blackbuck poaching case and his alleged rivalry with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The case will now be heard on July 1, the court has currently refused to pass any interim order.

The matter came up before a vacation bench of Justice Madhu Jain, which directed Salman Khan to provide the full copy of his case and all supporting documents to the filmmakers before the next hearing. The direction came after the filmmakers told the court that they had received only a part of the case papers.

Advocate Nizam Pasha, appearing for Khan, argued that although the makers have not announced the release date, they have already unveiled the poster and trailer of the film.

Earlier this month, Salman Khan had sent a legal notice to the makers demanding immediate removal of posters and other promotional materials related to the project.

Meanwhile, according to live lawSeeking an immediate stay on the film, Khan’s lawyer said, “He is producing a film on my life…He has no right…I have not authorized him.”

Khan has alleged that the film unlawfully uses his personality and public image without his consent while presenting events closely related to him.

In his petition, the actor has also objected to the promotional material of the film and claimed that it contains unflattering references to him. Among them, he pointed to the depiction of a character wearing a blue bracelet similar to the one Khan has worn for years, arguing that it has become a distinctive part of his public identity.

The lawyer representing the filmmakers informed the court that they had only received the application seeking immediate relief and not the main suit.

“On Wednesday, they gave me only the application, not the complaint,” the lawyer told the court. live law.

The film producers’ lawyer also said that they have been receiving death threats over the proposed film and an FIR has already been registered in the matter.

After hearing both the sides, the court directed Khan to hand over the entire set of case documents, including the main petition, to the defendants before the next date of hearing.
