speaking on two girls and two cups In the podcast, he recalled receiving a message early in his career that upset and confused him. “I remember getting a message saying, ‘If you are willing to compromise you will get more than Rs 1 lakh,'” the actor said.
The 40-year-old actor said this happened early in his career, and he replied to the message because he didn’t know what “compromise” meant in that context.
“I replied, ‘Agreement?’ Because I didn’t know. I showed it to a casting director who was like a guru. He was like, ‘Just delete, block, delete it.’ I was impressed. People generally think that there should be no evidence. They will say things on the phone so that no one can report them. But in one text it was ‘a settlement of more than Rs 1 lakh’,” he said.
Gagroo further explained that he thought the word referred to money or budgeting. She said she initially believed this meant whether she would be willing to compromise on the budget, and joked that she thought it might be a financial matter “like GST”. He said, “Rs 1 lakh plus GST, maybe some complimentary. Plus compromise. I didn’t know. That’s what happens with non-Napo kids. It’s not easy to do all this.”
On outsiders and nepotism
Despite that experience, Gagroo said she remained focused on her work and continued to pursue her career on her own terms. He also said that star children come into the industry with certain advantages.
He said, “Star kids definitely have access. They can meet people more easily, they know the ecosystem and they have a network. But ultimately, the audience decides who stays.”
According to him, outsiders often have to work hard to attract attention, secure auditions, and build relationships in the industry. Reflecting on his own journey, he said he focused on improving his craft and choosing roles that challenged him as an actor.
