Premium Residency holders in Saudi Arabia must obtain a work permit: requirements, rules explained world News

Saudi Arabia’s Kiva labor forum has outlined a series of rules covering work permits, employee resignations, training contracts and visa-related services for premium residency holders.Premium Residency holders must obtain a dedicated work permit through the Kiva platform. The permit is issued for a fee of SR100.Kiva said membership fees for businesses vary depending on the size of the establishment and are calculated based on the total number of employees registered under the entity’s integrated number. The platform also confirmed that employers can document training contracts for participants in the Tamheer program through its digital services. However, these contracts do not count toward Saudization goals and do not contribute to the compliance requirements associated with employment contract documentation.Kiva said the service fee can be paid via bank card, SADAD payment number or the platform’s digital wallet. The forum also clarified the rules governing resignation of employees. The employee may withdraw the resignation request within seven days, provided the employer has neither accepted the resignation nor postponed any decision during that period.Notice periods, meanwhile, are determined by the terms agreed in individual employment contracts and may vary between employees. On visa-related services, Kiva said the information contained on a visa cannot be amended once it is issued. If incorrect details are entered during the application process, the visa should be canceled and a new visa issued with the correct information. The clarification is part of Kiva’s efforts to guide employers and employees on labor-related processes available through digital platforms.
