Pakistani actress Sanam Saeed gained global fame playing the role of Kashaf Murtaza in ‘Zindagi Gulzar Hai’ (2012). She is back in mainstream drama with Zindagi’s new show ‘Barzakh’, in which she is reuniting with Fawad Khan after 12 years. During an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in, Sanam spoke about the possibilities of coming to India and working here.

Sanam realises the love she gets in India, but working in India is not a big deal for her. “It’s amazing how much love one gets from India and I have never been to India. It’s only because when Zindagi was launched that I couldn’t come. Let alone love India from a distance because of the political situation. It’s not a good feeling to go through that stress, that risk and fear. So I think that’s the best thing about India.” it is correct the way it is “It is fine as it is,” he said in an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in.

Quoting a line from his upcoming show, he elaborated, “There is a dialogue in ‘Barzakh’ – love has different dimensions, ways and aspects. I think for the artiste, this India-Pakistan love is another way of that kind of love.”

Sanam is not sure about coming to India for work, but she reiterated that she would love to visit India. “I will definitely come to India, just as a visit. Work – we will see. But, just as a visit, I would love to come. There is so much to see there,” Sanam told us.

The political tension between India and Pakistan has affected the way artists work across the border. When asked if that tension still remains when taking on a project across the border, Sanam said, “As far as production is concerned, there is no fear because the captain of the ship at that time was Shailaja (Zindagi head). She was amazing to work with, and she is someone who knows what she wants to do. So, we could leave all other issues aside and just focus on making content that would please her and attract the world. When you have people like her backing the project, you don’t care about what’s happening around.”

During this, ‘Barzakh’ is directed by Asim AbbasiExplores themes of love, loss and the supernatural. The show will be available on YouTube Premium from July 19, with one episode dropping every week.
