Lalit Modi confirms biopic is in the works, Ranveer Singh wanted to play the lead role
Lalit Modi said that his biopic is still in the scripting stage. He recalled visiting Ranveer Singh in London to discuss playing his role on screen.

Former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi has said that a biopic based on his life is in the works, currently the project is in the scripting stage and the makers have not yet selected the lead actor. He also said that actor Ranveer Singh once approached him to play the role and flew to London to discuss the film with him.
talking to ANIModi said, “Ranveer wants to play my character and he came to meet me. I would like him to act, only if he has time because now he has grown up a lot. I didn’t know Ranveer, I knew Deepika very well back then. I never met her. One day, I got a call saying Ranveer wants to meet you. And he came to London to meet me two years ago.”

Modi said he was unsure whether Ranveer Singh would be interested in the project despite the actor’s success stalwartBut added that he continued to praise his work.
“He said that in his life, if there was one role he would have wanted to play, it would have been Lalit Modi as the Commissioner. This was not what I was asking of him. I think he is great. Without any doubt, he is amazing. And what he has done stalwart Amazing,” Modi said.
The former businessman said that the biopic is still being written and a detailed research process is underway.

In a recent interview with people of bombayModi defended Sushmita Sen over the ‘gold digger’ tag and said that she has made her success on her own. He said, “Sushmita is a beautiful, successful and self-made woman. She has more diamonds than almost everyone I know, and she earned everything herself. She even had diamond reserves.”

Modi’s cricket administration roles
Modi is the founding chairman and former commissioner of the Indian Premier League. He also served as the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Control for Cricket in India between 2005 and 2010.
Apart from his role in the IPL, Modi has held other positions in domestic cricket administration, including as president of the Rajasthan Cricket Association and vice-president of the Punjab Cricket Association.
