Producer TP Aggarwal approaches court against film body’s stand on Ranveer Singh
Producer TP Aggarwal has approached the Bombay Civil Court against FWICE and IMPPA, saying that neither organization has the right to impose restrictions on members of the film industry. His plea comes in the wake of FWICE’s recent action against Ranveer Singh in connection with Don 3.

Senior producer TP Aggarwal has filed a petition in the Bombay Civil Court in Dindoshi against FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) and IMPPA (Indian Motion Picture Producers Association), saying that no person or organization has the right to impose sanctions or issue non-cooperation directions against members of the film industry.
talking to India TodayAggarwal said that no one has the right to impose sanctions against anyone or send such instructions. The filmmaker also said that he and filmmaker Vipul A Shah had earlier also filed a petition against such a direction.

“They had no business doing this,” he said, adding that the first hearing on his petition against FWICE and IMPPA is tomorrow (June 2).
The petition comes after FWICE issued non-cooperation directions against Ranveer Singh amid the actor’s ongoing dispute with Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment over his exit. don 3.
As reported India Today Earlier, FWICE had also written to IMPPA and PGI (Producers Guild of India) to prepare a framework for the protection of producers in similar situations in future.
Commenting further on the petition, TP Aggarwal said in a statement, “The film industry thrives on collaboration, and it is important that matters of this nature are addressed through appropriate legal and professional channels. Any attempt to discourage people from working with an individual should not be taken lightly. Such actions can have far-reaching consequences for livelihoods and creative freedom, and should therefore be dealt with in a fair, transparent and lawful manner.”
TP Aggarwal had served as the President of IMPPA for 17 years and was also elected President of the Film Federation of India (FFI) four times. He currently serves as the patron of FFI and IMPPA.
