This is the RedMagic 11S Pro, and it looks just like its predecessor. But that’s not a bad thing, RedMagic gaming phones have their own style – no bulges, no camera islands, just flush surface, flat edges, good craftsmanship.

The phone comes in two configurations – 12/256GB and 16/512GB – and two configurations – Nightfreeze and Subzero (one silver). Ours is the black one (Nightfreeze). You get an 80W charger, a USB cable, and a nice soft-touch case that’s thinner than your typical silicone case.

The RedMagic 11S Pro is fresh in the global market and it’s a little different from its Chinese counterparts – for starters, it’s just a phone. In China, you get two – the 11S Pro and the 11S Pro+. Depending on the model, you’ll either get a larger 8,000mAh battery or the same 7,500mAh, but with faster 120W cable charging.

Globally, you’re getting a 7,500mAh battery with 80W charging – wired and wireless.

You get all the proper gaming bits on the RedMagic 11S Pro – RGB lighting, liquid cooling, a fan with shoulder triggers, a light-up RedMagic logo while inside, a large vapor chamber, and a RedCore R4 gaming chip.

Shoulder triggers also fire. It’s a nice touch, not excessive. It also fits well with the look and vibe of the RedMagic 11S Pro.

Liquid cooling is nice, but it’s not exactly what you’d find on a big, proper gaming computer. There, you get a water-cooling loop that circulates through tubes. On the 11S Pro, the AquaCore system probably makes more of a difference in battery thermals than the SoC.

The greatest cooling effect is still down to the large vapor chamber and active cooling fan.

But the liquid cooling scene is certainly pretty cool, and the technology behind it is innovative.

The RedMagic 11S Pro has an under-display selfie camera that is almost impossible to recognize in normal daily use.

This is likely the same unit as the RedMagic 11 Pro, which was fine, but far from regular, visible selfie implementation.

The RedMagic 11S Pro feels boxy and heavy in the hand. It’s a thick-feeling slab due to the 9mm diameter of the frame. The completely flat design is nice – nothing bulges or sticks out, which is refreshing.

The matte frame doesn’t get damaged easily, which we can’t say about the glass back of the phone. It shows fingerprints easily and requires frequent wiping.
