Suriya’s upcoming action drama KaruppuDirected by RJ Balaji, it has been cleared the censor process with a U/A certificate ahead of its worldwide theatrical release on May 14. The film has generated strong interest since its teaser and other promotional videos were released online, starring actress Trisha in the lead role.

The film also marks the reunion of Suriya and Trisha after many years, leading to increased attention around its release. Sharing the certification update online, the makers wrote, “#Karuppu censored with UA will hit screens worldwide from 14th May.” The team is currently engaged in promotional activities for the film.

The promotional material released so far reveals that Suriya plays a lawyer named Saravanan, who turns to divine justice when he fails through legal means. The story is also said to revolve around the village deity Karuppasamy, which adds an emotional and action-packed layer to the film.

Apart from Suriya and Trisha, the film stars Yogi Babu, Indrans, Swasika, Sivadha, Natti Subramaniam, Supreeth Reddy and Anagha Maya Ravi in ​​lead roles.
