Usha Mangeshkar says she feels lonely at home after the death of sisters Lata and Asha
Usha Mangeshkar spoke about the shock of losing sisters Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle at an event in Mumbai. He said that the silence at home had deepened his grief and loneliness.

Singer Usha Mangeshkar has spoken about the emotional impact of losing her elder sisters, Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle, saying that the silence at home now makes her feel lonely and sad. He said that losing his two elder sisters in the last eight years has left a deep void in his daily life.
talking to ANI At the 18th Newsmakers Awards 2026 in Mumbai, Usha described Asha Bhosle’s death as “a big shock” for the family as well as her fans. He said, “My elder sister has passed away. In the last eight years I have lost my two elder sisters. It is a huge blow for me and the entire country as they have lost a great singer.”

reliving my memories with Sharara Singer, Usha said, “I have a lot of memories. We have been together since childhood. Now I feel very lonely and sad at home.” She also shared that despite her grief, she decided to participate in the event because it was difficult to stay indoors while grieving, and she needed a change of environment to cope with the loss.
About Asha Bhosle and Lata Mangeshkar
Asha Bhosle died on 12 April at the age of 92. He was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on April 11 after suffering from cardiac and respiratory complications.
Considered one of the most successful playback singers of Hindi cinema, Asha Bhosle’s career spanned more than eight decades. He recorded songs in several Indian languages for films and albums, earning widespread praise and several prestigious honors. Among his many accolades, he was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2008 and the Padma Vibhushan, the country’s second highest civilian honour.
Meanwhile, Lata Mangeshkar died on February 6, 2022, at the age of 92, weeks after being hospitalized following complications from COVID-19 and pneumonia. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna in 2001 along with three National Film Awards and many other prestigious honors during his career.
