Popular singer of Tamil cinema, Swagatha Krishnan has come into limelight after talking openly about a very sad experience of her life. The artist recently spoke about alleged abuse by a musician.
Swagata Krishnan on misbehavior by musician
In an interview with Sivasankari Talks, Swagata alleged that about seven years ago, a prominent Tamil musician had misbehaved with her inside his studio. She said the incident took place in a closed, soundproof room and claimed it was recorded on CCTV cameras, which were later used to intimidate her.
Furthermore, the singer revealed that her experience was not an isolated incident. She said she noticed a similar pattern after talking to other women who had faced comparable situations. Referring to the Epstein files he commented that “the music director was the king of this kind of thing”.
He further alleged that the accused created an environment of trust before misusing his position. According to her, he would target independent women, borrow money from them, delay repayment and gradually establish control. The artist also claimed that when other individuals shared their experiences with him, he learned that many people, including children, had allegedly been victims of secret recordings.
Additionally, Swagata said that she was financially exploited by the musician. He revealed that he had lent her money, which was never returned. He also shared that this experience led him to move away from the film industry.
The singer talked about the emotional impact of the ordeal, saying she felt very discouraged after it. She relied on her sister and therapy to deal with the situation. She said she is struggling with the consequences of the experience and its impact on her well-being.
Swagata mentioned that she had earlier consulted lawyers and senior officials but did not file a formal complaint at that time due to lack of support and courage. He has now expressed his intention to take legal action against the musician.

Swagata Krishnan is a playback singer who predominantly works in Tamil cinema. According to reports in Cine Ulagam, he was brought up in a family of artists and started learning music at an early age. She has three siblings and later moved to Bengaluru to study engineering.
Driven by her passion for music, she eventually moved to Chennai and worked as a playback singer. Over the years, he has sung songs like Lakshmi Se Ala Ala, Raja Raja Kula Vijay DeverakondaNote of, and from Kadhal Kanmani GV PrakashThe Bachelor, among others.
Reportedly, after moving away from her film career, Swagatha moved to Rishikesh, where she has been running a business for many years.
