talking on podcast with hindi rushVishal said that director Aditya Dhar was clear from the beginning that he wanted practical explosions rather than visual effects. While small explosions are often created on set and later enhanced digitally, that method was deliberately avoided. Dhurandhar 2.
According to Vishal, the most challenging moment was the climax tanker blast sequence, which required careful planning due to the risks involved. Reportedly 500 liters of petrol was used in the scene while Ranveer had to walk near the blast area.
“Imagine 500 liters of petrol. All the pieces of that explosion were real. Ranveer was walking very close, and I had to make sure that the flames did not reach Ranveer. We did all the work and told Ranveer Singh exactly where he could start walking. We have actually put in a lot of blood and sweat in Dhurandhar. (We really gave our blood and sweat to Dhurandhar),” he said.
Vishal further revealed that Arjun Rampal was originally supposed to be a part of the shot, but was removed before filming began due to security concerns. He admitted that he was more worried about Ranveer during the sequence, while the actor remained calm and trusted the crew’s preparation.
He also recalled that several team members stayed after pack-up to watch the filming of the explosion. After the completion of the shot, Ranveer appreciated the team’s effort and said, “tore tune (You absolutely broke it).”
Explaining why the sequence became even more demanding, Vishal said that the team used real train bases and containers to stage the explosion. He also revealed that he insisted on a bigger explosion despite production concerns.
“There was a lot of production pressure on me. Real train bases and containers were used for the explosion. It was very challenging, but we were confident. The production told me to use 250 litres, but I was adamant that at least 500 liters of fuel was required. To do that explosion, I also had to add 25 kg of explosives to each of these tanks to get the right effect. I listened to everyone, to my own mind (I heard all that but did what my heart said),” he added.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar: Revenge It is the story of Ranveer Singh’s character Jaskirat Singh Rangi, who infiltrates a terrorist network in the guise of Hamza Ali Mazari as part of a mission to dismantle it.
