Fashion’s biggest night is returning, and while celebrities get ready to step out in their boldest and most beautiful outfits, we’re taking a look at the details ahead of the huge charity event. Held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, this year the Met Gala will be held in the Met’s new Condé Nast Gallery, located next to the Great Hall of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The festival will be held as per tradition on the first Monday of May, which falls on May 4 this year. It will be broadcast online for fans to enjoy and critique.
Met Gala 2026 Theme and Co-Chairs
The theme of 2026 for the famous Met Gala has been revealed as Costume Art, whose official dress code is Fashion Is Art. Expect the most talked-about looks of the year at the 2026 Met Gala. Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman and Venus Williams have been announced as co-chairs, along with Anna Wintour. The main sponsors of the evening, Jeff Bezos and his wife, Lauren Sanchez Bezos, have been given the title of honorary co-chairs.
Meanwhile, the celebrity host committee co-chairs have been revealed to be Zoe Kravitz, Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Alex Kansani, Misty Copeland, Elizabeth Debicki, Lena Dunham, Sam Smith, Teyana Taylor and Lisa (Blackpink), who will be ambassadors for the event. Other co-chairs include Anthony Vaccarello, Gwendoline Christie, Paloma Elsesser, Chloë Malley, Lauren Wasser, Anna Weyant, Aja Wilson, and Yseult.

The 2026 Met Gala red carpet will be streamed live on Vogue’s YouTube and TikTok accounts on Monday, May 4 at 6pm EDT / 3pm PST.
Although the guest list remains a mystery as always, like every year this time too there will be some familiar and some returning faces as well as many surprises. Notably, Beyoncé will return to the ceremony after a 10-year absence.
