Deal: Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 are on pre-order, CMF Phone 1 tackles Android mid-rangers

Samsung’s new foldables are now on pre-order and will be released on July 19. There are interesting bundles on Amazon, for example, you can buy the Galaxy Z Fold6 (256GB) with the Galaxy Watch Ultra for £2,160. Given that the phone normally costs £1,800, this gets you the flagship watch for £360 – not its usual price of £600.

Another interesting pairing is the Z Fold6 with the Galaxy Buds3 – somehow, it costs £1,763, which is less than the cost of the phone alone. If you prefer the Galaxy Buds3 Pro instead, that bundle is £1,817.

You can buy the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 (256GB) with the Galaxy Watch 7 (40mm) for £1,205. That’s £155 off the watch, which normally costs £290. Or you can buy the Buds 3 for just £38 more than the Z Flip, with the Buds 3 Pro pairing at £92 more.

The CMF Phone 1 by Nothing is one of the most impressive sub-£200 phones we’ve tested so far. It has a unique, one-of-a-kind practical design, a great display and battery, a fast chipset and a good camera. It’s the only camera on the back, but it’s a good one (even without OIS). The lack of NFC, stereo speakers and better resistance than IP52 leaves a few things to be desired, but still, you can get it for just £180.

The Nothing Phone (2a), the parent brand’s main budget phone is £120 more. True, it has OIS on the main camera, a 50MP ultra wide and NFC. Plus, the chipset is slightly faster (but only slightly) and water resistance is up to IP54. The 2a is certainly the better phone, but is it £120 better?

The OnePlus CE4 Lite costs £250 more, but its older Snapdragon 695 CMF is no match for the Phone 1’s Dimensity 7300. The CE4 Lite doesn’t have an ultra-wide camera, but at least it has OIS on the main one. Plus, the 5,110mAh battery is noticeably faster with 80W charging (vs the 5,000mAh 33W on the CMF). Oh, the OnePlus also has stereo speakers and an IP54 rating.

The Samsung Galaxy A35 is a bit expensive at the moment, we will wait for a better discount. But for comparison, the Exynos 1380 is on par with the Dimensity and you get better IP67 dust and water resistance protection. The 50MP main camera has OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide which is better than nothing. However, you may miss the 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Google Pixel 8a is also very expensive, but discounts will be available. The Tensor G3 chipset easily tops the Dimensity and you get an IP67 rating like the Galaxy. There’s also wireless charging for the 4,492mAh battery (just 7.5W, but still). The 64MP OIS camera enjoys the Google Cam magic and there’s a 13MP ultra-wide. There’s no microSD slot on this one, though, no 3.5mm headphone jack either.
