Abhishek recently talked about his marriage with actor and YouTuber Lilly Singh on a podcast. They highlighted the importance of partnership and mutual respect in their relationship. Abhishek said that traditional gender roles never defined their marriage. He mentioned that his ‘severe ego’ played a role in ensuring that his sense of self was not dependent on making Aishwarya feel less accomplished.
He elaborated, “I have never been the kind of person who believes that in order to win that race someone else has to quit or stop running. My wife is also the kind of person who doesn’t think that way.” He explained that this approach stemmed from his upbringing, where his mother was a bigger star than his father at the time of their marriage.

Abhishek also shared information about his parenting style. She joked about being a ‘lousy teacher’, acknowledging that men often lack the sensitivity that women do. Emphasizing on being an example for her daughter Aaradhya, she said, “You have set an example by doing this. In my house, we both try to be the best example for Aaradhya.”
“In that sense, it never occurred to me that I had to teach her self-defense. If you’ve seen my wife, she can take care of herself,” he said jokingly. The couple believes in living by ethics and values, ensuring that there is no competition about who plays which role in the household.
